We'd all like lovely new frames with great stuff, but as reality has it --- I just can't afford it these days. I'd like to take an older model of bike, and fix it up for a short tour late this summer - it would be anywhere from 2-6 days, staying in hostels & motels for now, though maybe camping eventually. I thought taking a cheaper, older bike and using the money to fix it up & buy some racks and stuff. Feasibly I can afford $500 to do that stuff.
At the moment I'm riding an old English Raleigh road bike, with upgraded wheels and some replaced components. I'd tour on that but for the fact that the frame is slightly too big for me. Nearly any road frame would be an upgrade on that level, just not sure if it's worth taking the trouble with
this one.
ADDITION: I've tried to do some research on the maker, but can't find anything on them at all... Please help the newbie! I'm just looking for something with some decent potential that I can learn and practice my skills with....... but if this has no potential.......
