The deputies had just been at a home near where the alleged assault took place for a 19-year-old Kingston man who'd walked into a home — where the homeowners didn't know him.
When deputies went to kick him out, the 19-year-old responded with bizarre statements like "I am the last man on Earth," and "I want to drive," deputies said. He'd quickly transition between screaming and giggling, they added.
When deputies went to the 59-year-old's house, they showed him photos of the previous incident. The man said the 19-year-old looked to be the man that attacked him.
I’m not trying to armchair Quarterback, and hindsight is always 20/20... But. My question would have to be with the authorities, as to why that person was not already taken into custody.
The article stated that the person suspected of this crime was already questioned by police about a home invasion, and was noted to be acting irrational at that time… then why did they not take that person into custody for evaluation at that time; why was this person still running loose on the streets?
Seems more a law problem, then a bicycle one.
