I've always worn a helmet. Just parents pushing me to when I was little, and it stuck.

And, it paid off. I was riding (on my mountain bike actually...) to the trails, about a 10 mile ride. Cruising along in the bike lane, going with the traffic flow, nothing out of the ordinary, when BAM, out of a gas station a truck T-boned me. Knocking me off into traffic. If not for a helmet, which was severely damaged, i'm sure it would have been my head...Now more than ever I wear my helmet.
