I can sympathize with you. I gave my husband my old mountain bike (1995 GT LTS-2) hoping he would love biking as much as me, but unfortunately that has NOT happened yet.
But you did the right thing (we cyclists are that way, we have a weakness for newbies).
I decided not to push him to ride, just like he doesn't push me to golf. I guess some activies are better off done without the spouse or significant other.
To this wisdom, I respectfully defer. No one could get me to play golf, it reminds me too much about how Snowplug had to take it up! Just kidding, Snowplug.
I am still waiting, although last summer he suggested biking with me. We did two bike events together and he really enjoyed it.
