dura ace pedal problem

i have some dura ace pedals that are 4.5 years old and have about 12k miles on them

the right side pedal (the side i always unclip at stops etc) has developed some annoying clicking. replacing the cleats helped for exactly one ride. trying the same shoe on my other bike that only has about 7k miles on the pedals confirms that the problem is with the pedal and not the shoe or cleat.

i can crank the tension multiple clicks on the small adjustment feature on the back of the pedal and that helps for a while but now it is to the point that it occurs half way through a ride. hills tend to exacerbate the problem

is there something simple that can be done? or do i need to replace the pedals?
