Replacing the smallest chain ring with a 24 or 22 is not a major job or expense. My Aurora has served me well including carrying loads of around 30 lbs for a 12 day trip. I ride barend shifters on all my bikes but this one. I like both systems but if the SIS shifter ever go bad they are gone and bar ends will replace them. tom
