Plus it was all build-up and no substance. They barely showed any actual track racing. The only cool part, imo, was a couple quick bits of him hammering at about 150rpm on rollers.
I'm bummed I didn't get to see the Roubaix doc though. Hopefully I'll get another chance to see it. I still want to see "Cobbles, Baby!" too.
Yep. Track racing is all about over-the-top intensity. The guys don't look anything like typical cyclists and I think the mentality is different. As far as pretentious, I didn't get that vibe, but whatever. Basing the narration off a comic book of a movie didn't seem high brow to begin with. And I don't think the short was about the race itself ... it was all
about the lead-up to it.
