A bit faster than a bike, at least for me. You can do 25-35 on city streets, keeping up with car traffic. Easier getting up hills too. There must be 5000 or more of these scooters buzzing around our campus.
I like the Kymco People's scooters. They have much nicer looking 16" wheels.
