Several years ago, I was hauling ass on my favorite singletrack when I came upon a 8' snake sunning herself on the trail. I was probably 15' away from her and knew I had to either slam on the brakes or just hop over it. I chose to slam on the brakes, but couldn't stop on the pebbly trail. I then quickly pedaled and hopped over it (probably at 5mph... lol).

The snake was probably 4' and 1" in diameter, but in time, she's grown to 8' and 4" in girth. Man, what a huge snake.
