Went for a 35 mile ride on my Specialized road bike and came across this little guy. He was non venomous but had a weird salmon color. Anyway, MissBumble found a snake last week, and I found one today, so I guess we're have a snakey summer. Party on!
I saw four of them on tour, all rat snakes, three on the Great Allegheny Passage, one on the C & O Canal Towpath (Neil F. almost ran it over). One stretch of the GAP is known for copperheads, so I was careful around there.
I saw lots of turtles on the C & O, including a snapper I almost ran over.
