My parents bought me a Jazz Latitude as my first mountain bike in 92 or so. IIRC, it was $350 at the local bike shop.

Mine was pretty low end...hi-ten steel with a cro-mo seatpost..yippie But let me tell you, that bike took the abuse of every after school ride for at least 4 years before it was retired. Heavily abused, jumped, mud bogged, ect...

I'm not really sure where the Voltage fell, but I think everything was probably at about the same level. If you're looking for a utility bike, give it a go!
