hey, i’m down in new-o for the summer and have finally gotten into the bike world. I go to school way upstate ny, but I’m from nj and my brother has always been the bike nerd at home, so I’ve relied on him until now. While down here I started building my own bike from scratch at a community bike project called plan b (more cities could use places like this, definitely check it out - bikeproject.org). I’m planning on donating my bike back to plan b at the end of the summer, but have really enjoyed the building process and want to do it again up north. At home I ride my moms old Peugeot road bike to get around but for the new build-up I think I want a singlespeed mountain bike so I can do a little more terrain. Since I’m still a big newbie, I’m hoping I’ll be able to get some good information from reading around forums – once I get back home and start building I’m guessing I’ll have a bunch of questions of my own too
