It's hard to fit almost anything with the Sylvans, but I'd say the Toshi's softer leather and normal strap width would make them easier, if anything.
I chose to grind a bit more width into the slots of my Sylvans but made sure to keep them tight enough to hold the straps in place without doing the twist at the bottom. With my very rigid straps the twist would've been nearly impossible or too destructive to the leather. Anyway, I liked that I was able to choose exactly how wide the slots would be, so to me this is a plus for the Sylvans along with being cheap enough to take a drill to.
