There's no measurable difference unless you get aero, 40+mm deep section rims (AC 420s, Zipp 404s, etc.).

If you're not getting a truly aerodynamic wheel, then it really just doesn't make much difference at all. I'm winning races on 3x, 32h wheels with aluminum rims.
