You're going about this all wrong. Cycling isn't his hobby, right? So at most, he probably has one bike. What you need to do is address his hobby. Let's say it's fishing. How many rods and reels does he have? Or if he's into skiing, how many skis/skiboards does he have?
You get the idea.
