General question: Are road bike brakes in general not adequate for speeds around 50 mph, or are my cannondale made brakes no good?
the energy they need to dissipate goes as the square of the speed. You go faster, it takes longer to slow you down. Try stopping a car a 50mph and really see how long it takes. Not so short either, eh?
