Let me try and distill my original post
If 25% of drivers switched to bikes for their commute that would result in:
10 times the number of bicycles competing for the same amount of space/facilities and at the same time a 25% reduction in gas tax revenue so those facilities are not expanded or maintained properly.
With only one in four cars removed there would still be more than enough auto traffic to keep cyclists from "taking over" the streets.
Could your area's cycling infrastructure handle the extra load?
