I changed out the rear tires on the bike with the OMM rack today to get slightly wider wheels better suited for city potholes and a commuting bike. The attachment is not a locking skewer, but I think it will offer an extra notch of theft protection. I defy anyone to remove a rear wheel in a hurry, or without a friend to help.

Not looking forward to my first rear tire flat.
