I am also not well-read in playing the stock market, but I doubt that companies like Shimano will experience some boom in market value because of the current oil crisis. Automotive companies will adjust to the times, create innovative products to counter it, and will still find a way to have positive cash flow.
They already know that most people cannot have any sort of comfortable living standard without the auto. This already precludes that unless there is some major shift in the oil crisis, the third wave of bicycle transportation will be a (relatively) marginal growth, at best.
Personally, I wouldn't want to live in a world where bikes were dominant. That means that biking will be the new driving, and I'm already trying to avoid that!
