While I do love cycling paths that don't have intersections with the streets, sometimes I still prefer the street. There's shops, restaurants with patios, cafes along the street - so the street is bustling with a lot more life. More chance of running into people I know to stop and chat, more interesting people watching going on, easy to make dinner shopping stopoffs, encounter random street festivals and more random whimsy. Of course these are roads like Queen or Bloor in Toronto; if my choice was a cycling path like this or a high speed suburban strip mall (sameness everywhere) road, then it would be the path for sure!
