I would like point out the Rough-Stuff Fellowship is off-road cycle touring club which was founded in 1955 and the South Lakes Group has two rides per month which about two thirds on road and third off-road where we ride to the tracks. The other two rides per month are about two thirds off-road and third on-road plus starting point for the ride is about half hour to hour drive in car from Lancaster.
