Sold my old bike and in my quest for a new steed I stopped by one of the many local shops here yesterday and, on the rack was a 2009 Orbea Onix (seen here http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c..._2006_40755890) - can someone post it.

The picture does not do it justice. It really is a beautiful machine with the naked carbon seat post. The bottom bracket is totally redesigned, angular in shape, quite beefy. The geometry is the same as 08 but the tube shapes are totally redesigned, for the better.

I took a 51cm (with 105 and 105 wheels w 700/23 tires) for a spin and it was quite stiff. I need to ride it again because I although it felt rocketship quick, I expected a bit more damping. A little chatter from the FD cable on the bricks but otherwise was very solid. I really liked the look of the frame.

The Onix with full Ultegra Sl w/ Ksyrium Equipe is 2599 - really very alluring for an SL bike, the Onix with 105/ultegra is either 1800 or 2200 I forget. I am going to test ride a Tarmac later in the week. Coming from the trek 1500 my position was a bit agressive (shorter head tube than on the 52 Tarmac).
