I have the S-510. The handlebar mount is about the same distance from the chest transmitter as the monitor would be if it was on your wrist. It keeps a running tab of total distance [odometer] and trip distance, and works reasonably well as a speedo and saves your max. It is downloadable to your computer, where the software gives you graphs like the one below [black is HR, red is speed], but it drops a lot of information on long rides, averaging out "data points," so it takes the top end off of the graph. I had a max HR on the ride below of 162 and at least two sprints over 50 km/h, but that doesn't show up on the graph, since at three hours, it calculates averages for two-minute intervals.
