The first time you'll probably screw up, so you may want to try once with el cheapo tape, so you can redo it as much as you want. I don't do the "little bit of tape for the brake hoods" method, I use a kind of figure 8 I can't explain, which also reverses the wrap direction so the top is wrapped inverse of the bottom. Whatever works.
