Why bother? I'd rather use a public forum that allows for people to lurk and eventually join in on the posting/fun. Having a private forum with an 'application' would greatly reduce that.
Plus, yeah, nearly 1650 pages in it seems wrong to abandon this thread.

Yes, you would. The best part is that the fancier the bike you buy, the huger the discount percentage off retail. It'd be stupid NOT to buy the SL version!
