Thanks for the photos. Three years over there, including 2 trips to the lake district, wasn't nearly long enough.
What people don't realize, the last picture of the canal with the road beside it. There is a whole network of canals that were the primary means of getting goods to market prior to the industrial revolution. That roadbed was for workhorses pulling the longboat/barges.
Also, the unlabeled picture between the tree and ford pictures. Notice the directional sign at the break in the brick wall. There to document the hiking path between villages. Such history.
