My geared bike, a 56cm Surly LHT (700c), has a relaxed geometry compared to a track bike and I do have toe overlap on it using clipless pedals. Considering that track bikes have a shorter wheelbase, toe overlap may be inevitable. They're designed to go fast, in which case you don't steer enough for the overlap to be a problem.

In short, if you have overlap with just your foot properly set on the pedal, you have very few options: 1) learn to live with it, 2) get a smaller front wheel, 3) get another bike.
i'm glad that there's usually at least one person per thread that gives teh correct advice.

as jp said, toe overlap is due to frame geometry, not toe clip/strap/pedal choice. yes, you can definitely choose a large cage or a small cage and change how far your toes protrude over the edge of the pedal, but it's much more important to have your foot in the proper position on the pedal. too far forward and you will be losing the power and leverage that comes from your calf muscles and too far back and you will end up with very fatigued toes and arches and the feel of your foot on the pedal will just not feel secure.

if toe overlap is a problem for you because you have big feet or very tight frame geometry, i would consider changing out your front fork for something a bit more relaxed or just learning to deal with it. or i guess you could have your toes removed.

unless it is very pronounced, toe overlap is really only a problem at very low speeds.
