My city has one or more cops on bikes. But the only time I've ever seen them was at a parade. I've never seen a bicycle cop on the local MUP. The only police I've ever seen on it were in their police cars. And that was only after motorcycles or gocarts had been on the trail.
The idea is good, it's just a matter of what gets done with it.
