I commute with old 10 1nd 12 speeds that I've salvaged and repaired, and it really helps with security. I don't need the latest locks or have to try to sneak it into the building. I did have a back light attacked one time though. Somebody just broke it off the back. Not likely they can use it on a bike after that so I'm not sure if it was just vandalism, or maybe somebody just wanted the batteries. "Oh well" I always say, "time to buy a gun." (but I never do)
