The quality of the bike really depends on the year. The Club was second only to the Team, and if it's the right vintage, calling it a "mid-range bike" is a grievous insult. Lot's of them apparently came equipped with pretty middle of the road parts, like ARX. My particular example has Cyclone dérailleurs (actually lighter than Superbe) and pedals, beautiful Sugino GLP cranks, Nitto stem, Fujita saddle on a Sugino post, the Dia-Compe brakes have a much fancier finish than those on my Sagres (also a nice bike) although I'm not sure they are mechanically superior. It also has Sansin hubs and deep Araya 700c rims, but I doubt the originality of the wheelset. Oh and mine has a chrome fork crown, which I've noticed lacking in a lot of other examples. As built with a Scott aerobar it weighs about 22 lbs according to my somewhat finicky bathroom scale, and could easily lose a pound with some clever parts swapping. Value is subjective, and I think $600 is pushing it, but I don't think $400 for a nicely equipped model like mine in pristine condition would be out of the ballpark. You certainly couldn't build one out of eBay parts for less than that unless you were very very patient.
