We got followed (about 2 feet behind us) by a guy about 3 months ago. When he went to pass, he missed me by anout 12 inches. I yelled and shot the old one-finger salute. He stopped and wanted to discuss the 'law' as it pertained to cyclists. I calmly explained the law here in SC. He told me to 'go F myself' (his 10 y.o. daughter +/- was in his car) and tried to run down my riding partner, who was on the other side of the road. Seeing this, I threw a full 20 ounce bottle and caved in the "C" pillar of his car.
He stopped, got out and wanted to fight. I dropped my bike and invited him to dance.

It seems that his 5'5", 140 pound body didn't quite match his ego. About this time, a Deputy rolled up (another motorist called 911...very cool of them) and told the guy to get in his car and sit on the side of the road. The Deputy got our story, the story from the motorist who called and lastly, the cager's story.
At the end, the Deputy asked me if I'd like to file assault charges. I declined. I did run the guy's tag through the DMV and SC Law Enforcement. I have his address, phone number and criminal record.

I gave him a call about a week after the incident and told him to mind his manners, because you never know who you are harrassing on a bike.

I've seen the car a few times since then...big ******** dent still in it. I just smile and wave...
