I'll be interested as to how the driver explains his passing when the cyclists were already speeding. The mindset that the posted limit is the minimum cracks me up, especially at lower speeds. Having a backseat full of blood won't help his case much. I'm not overly aggressive but I don't run from cars either, you will get a good knock on the body panels if you carve over into my lane without looking to see I'm already there, or you're scrubbin' the curb in your car. From what I can see the drivers run terrified from things they think will damage them. Here in Toronto, they will give a cyclist on the right a buzz against the curb but HAVE to give the streetcar on the left (Yes.. on rails) several feet. The streetcar isn't going anywhere you can get close it it in your car. I swear most folks have no clue how big their car is or isn't.
