I would love to commute with you but the ride from Golden doesn't leave me much time with the family.

That said, I think N95th St is much nicer to ride on than 287. I took it from Hyw36 to S. Longmont for Bike to Work Day and have ridden it a few times on other journeys. It has a shoulder and I think a lot less traffic and slower speeds.
