Nope. Urban legend of Brooks continues to grow. Hide is the same including thickness across Brooks model line. Difference is surface area. Decrease surface area, decrease trampoline effect...enter perception of greater stiffness. To my rear end the regular B.17 is the most comfortable. The Pro is too narrow for me. I am built like a cyclist however with long skinny legs.
