That's pretty much what I do. Except I also use the soap from my shower....I have this little post-ride routine, I shower and have my jersey/shorts on the floor of the bathtub....that allows a small "pool" of water/soapsuds to form.....then I stomp on them for 60 seconds (manual wash cycle), wring them out, rinse/repeat.....I have also found that by putting them out in the sun to dry, the UV radiation from the sun helps kill the bacteria in the chamois.
