Probably not. If you are going to leave the bike at someplace for hours on end like at a Park-n-ride or if you live where they'd be out in the rain for a few hours, they make sense. For short stops (<1.5 hrs), I don't think people would use them.

Part of the problem is training. We have been taught from a pretty young age to stay away from gray to brown boxes sitting around on the ground because they contain bad jujus. We get to the point where we don't even see them anymore. And if we do we would avoid opening one for fear of death. Every locker box I've seen looks like something that you'd get in trouble opening. They are a great idea but they are just invisible.
