Since I'm using disc brakes on this bike, filing would be a pretty useless (and I think you're right, dangerous) endeavour. I seem to remember reading somewhere about bringing the spoke pair that straddles the seam up to higher tension that the rest of the wheel to compensate for irregularities. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
