I think the title of this thread should be "Why are some riders such pissypants?"

home made mirrors and whistles generally indicate a squirrelly rider, one automatically suspect at the bike shop of being a safety nanny and not able to handle a bike safely.

complaining about ribbing as a supercommuter, well, it's tough to be a geek on a bike.

In the OP's posts I see unrealistic demands being expected from members of the general public on bikes.

you claim you've been riding since the 1970's and think riders need to whistle an approach so you don't get startled???
