Agreed, those are war zones as well. Not comparing war zones within the state.

Most of my riding used to be done in upper Litchfield county and Lower Berkshires. (Mill River, New Boston, Monterey, etc.)

Lovely, awesome. Absolutely no hassles whatsoever. Perfect road biking territory, Perconally, I found it to be much quieter than riding around, say, Kent/Cornwall. But even in those more highly trafficked areas it's easier than here.

Takes an hour and a half to drive there, however, but I used to do it regularly. But the price of gas has forced me to train closer to home.
