I have not thought of trying an smp because of the price... money is one thing I don't have much of. I have not really looked at the Aliante but I suppose that is another option. And I have not played with the tilt of the saddle, but I never thought about the "hammock" effect, but I suppose I should try tilting it a degree or two down before I go buying a whole new saddle.
I put an angle finder on the saddle and tilt it down from level not more than a degree. It's hard to even see its tilted. If I tilt it much more than that I tend to slide forward off the sweet spots - pain and numbness ensue.
