Bike shipping boxes require that you remove the front wheel, the seat/post, pedals, handlebars, and possibly invert the stem to shorten the overall height by just enough. Rear tire and forks stay.

Take it to a LBS. They'll charge a little disassembly fee, but once you see how they pack it, you'll be able to do it yourself in the future.
