I looked at the other products that paddleboy has, and I might be more interested in four wheels, and a juryrigged mechanism for towing the canoe. That way I could ride right into the water, and throw the bike in the canoe when the craft is floating.
I've been using Tony Hoar's "
trayak" for a couple of summers now. No real touring with it, but perhaps a total of 150kms of short (5-10 kms each way) trips with a 5,5m long sea kayak. Have been very happy.
For open top canoes you don't necessarily need a full trailer. Swedish canoe manufacturer
Linder have a design where you only attach a pair of wheels under the canoe, and an "arm" of sorts in the bow (easy with a canoe, more complicated with a kayak). The arm then attaches to your seat post.
