Real and solid. Teak costs me about $20 a foot now (so I don't use it much!). Lots of walnut and white oak that I dry myself.
But there are probably more craftsmen/artists doing things like woodwork and bicycle building than most people are aware. Too bad. They deserve more credit (I don't mean me; I would never compare my wood skills to anything near that of Richard's frame skills) and recognition.
I gotta sign out here. Just got back from the Tour of Wyoming, and I'm whipped. Botto may be able to climb like a pro, but I climb like a lead weight, and my legs are full of lead at the moment.
