Cruising at 23 mph on Comm Ave (Boston)
I just got back from a ride and on a whim I decided to go down a street I've been avoiding due to terrible conditions (Comm Ave near BU for Boston folk). When I got there I found that the street had been freshly paved! I can't fully describe how awful this stretch of road has been over the past year or so, so to see it like this was amazing. I looked down at my computer and saw that I was going at 23 mph without even trying too hard! Incredible! That would be literally unthinkable just a short while ago.
I've very happy about this, but I'm not going to get too excited. For whatever reason they've been paving that street, tearing it up again, and repaving multiple times in the past year or so, so I'll just enjoy it while it lasts.
However, this new pavement looks more "permanent" than the other times they've repaved. Or is this just wishful thinking??
