Bikes: Colnago for road, Fuji for track

I agree it is much easier to draft and go down a hill along with getting faster speeds on a road bike. It isn't hard at all to control a road bike, but when I do riding in the city with it, I miss having the ability to control my speed w/o a brake all the time.

but yes fixed is definitely more fun to ride
nyet, if you have better control riding a fixed through traffic than a road bike all it means is that you don't know how to ride a road bike.

It stops faster, accelerates faster, does both with less effort in a wider range, has a tighter turn radius & a higher top end, all without the constant motion of your legs attached to the drive train unable to stop complicating things, a limiting factor in traffic to say the least that offers extremely limited speed control compared to one finger on one brake and one to switch gears with, or, while on the hoods, no fingers for braking and no fingers for gearing.

You can ride faster, stop faster, turn faster, go faster and all with more control -in crowded city- on a road bike than on a fixed gear w/or w/out a front brake.

Illusions of greater control are prominent in this little segment of bicycling but it's all poppycock, what you feel is a different manner of control, one that is extremely limited in comparison to a freewheel w/accoutrements. But it is different, less widely used and more primitive. Decidedly -not- superior from a control or performance angle, just from a personal makes me feel diff angle.

Get real people, you do fixed bikes as a genre a disservice making claims that any cyclist worth 2 bits is going to immediately recognize as inflatable BS.
