I can see two things. First is that the dropout looks like it is semi horizontal and second is that the brakes they are showing have the pad screws right at the bottom of the slot. Now if I'm right about the semi horizontal dropouts then you can't shove the wheel all the way back. Looking closely at the fuzzy picture it sure seems like there's a little gap showing behind the skewer end nut. That means it's forward in the slot a little. Try copying that and I'll bet your brakes will work. Otherwise it'll have pads running on the sidewalls.
I will try having the wheel sit forward in the dropouts and see if that works, I too see a little gap in the picture. Otherwise what other options are there?
