Those same dogs would have nailed a walker, too. People just need to have control of their dogs. It's a pet-peeve of mine, having grown up in a household where dogs were expected to behave. One lick of the balls would get them thrown out of the house. One growl or attempt at runaway would get them tossed down, face-up, in a choke-hold. One paw on the leg would mean a big fight with my mother, who does not play, which would end in the dog doing several "tricks" for minor rewards.
I've been reading about the ammonia solution for those who have to ride by irresponsible pet owners. It sounds like a good one.
