I've seen some threads and done some research about comparisons of the solist vs. another bike, but I am looking for some detailed responses just about the cervelo solist team. I saw there was a $3,000 thread, but thats higher than my price range. I plan on upgrading my current bike around December/January, so I'll be able to pickup an '08 model cheaper, right now I can get a brand new one for $1,000 (full ultegra) but I'd still like to pay a bit less. Is that a complete Soloist Team bike for a grand? If so, that's pretty cheap -- the frames alone sell on Competitive Cyclist for $1100
Bike weight is mostly determined be whatever you put on it. My 2007 58cm alu Soloist frame is 1414g, totally bare (no fork, no bolts, no head-set, no post, nothing), so you can go from there
