A lady up the block from me has a small (10 lb.'ish) dog that chases by me every day I go run.

Recently she yelled at me because I stopped, put my hands up and turned to her with the dog on my sock still trying to destroy my leg and simply said:

I'll sue your ass if he breaks skin

Her reply was:

He's not going to bite you! Stop being over-dramatic!

Soon as she called the dog off, I sat down, took off my $12 sock that was torn and mangled and explained that she might want to rethink what she defines as 'bite' and called the police. The dog is okay, but she's pretty pissed now that she got a ticket for an unrestrained animal in city limits, attacking a city official and as the officer explained "should consider replacing my socks."

Next time the dog chases me on my bike, I'm going to see if I can still bunny-hop, otherwise that ladies going to be picking spokes from her teeth.

The dog on the other hand, just needs to find a new master or learn to leash itself.
