Hello,

I have a NOS (1991) Shimano Deore XT RapidFire integrated Brake/Shifter system gathering dust, begging to be used.

The brake levers are 2-finger BL-M733.

I am hoping to use these parts on an Xtracycle build (partly to save money, partly because I love the feel of the system) but in order to do so I need to pair it with either v- or disc brakes. It seems like the Avid BB7 mechanicals would work perfect... unless they aren't compatible with these levers.

Can I get this to work without using something like the TravelAgent (about which I've heard mixed reviews)?

Any help/advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
